Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Stefan Schaltegger is professor of sustainability management. He is founder and head of the world wide first MBA programme in sustainability management, the MBA Sustainability Management, in 2003, and founder of the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) at Leuphana University Lüneburg. From 2006 to 2010 he served as vice president research and from 2022 to 2023 as Dean of the School of Sustainability. He is deputy editor, associate editor or member of the editorial board of various internationally renowned academic journals, has more than 500 publications, has been ranked among the top cited researchers in management and environmental studies, and has received various academic awards. Dr. Mirja Mikkilä works as Associate Professor (tenure) for the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Helsinki. She also holds an Adjunct professor position at Department of Sustainability Science and Solutions at Lappeenranta University of Technology. Her expertise cover corporate responsibility and sustainability, environmental economics, natural resource economics, and transition management. Her recent research interests focus on financial profitability and sustainability of renewable and non-renewable natural resource governance and utilizations. She has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference proceedings. Before the academic career she worked over 15 years within international natural resource consulting and pulp and paper industry operations on four continents, Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Dr. Ioannis E. Nikolaou is a professor of corporate environmental management and performance. He is co-founder and head of the Business Economic and Environmental Technology Lab of Department of Environmental Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece (DUTH). He is also co-founder and editor of the Circular Economy and Sustainability Journal (Springer Publisher). He is co-founder and editor of book series of Springer about Circular Economy and Sustainability. He is deputy editor, associate editor or member of the editorial board of various internationally renowned academic journals. He has more than 90 publications and 10 books (in Greek and English). For the 2020 he is among the top 2% in Standford’s world scientist ranking. Dr. Dr. Rajat Panwar (phonetically R-uh-j-uh-t P-un-w-aa-r) is an Associate Professor of Responsible and Sustainable Business Practices in the College of Forestry at Oregon State University, USA. A key focus of his current research is to understand the ways in which businesses can help in halting biodiversity loss and deforestation and the ways in which they can contribute to forest and landscape restoration. As a transdisciplinary scholar, Rajat has published his work in academic outlets (in forestry, business, and environmental management realms), in partitioners focused outlets (e.g., in California Management Review and Harvard Business review), and in policy forums.
